Playing without an account
The Chessroom game does not ask you to create an account, enter a name, or provide an email address to play. Computer matches run in your browser; playing with a friend uses the same device.
Information saved on your device
Chessroom uses browser local storage to remember your current position, move history, chosen mode, piece colour, difficulty, board orientation, and sound preference. This lets you resume a game in the same browser. The saved game is not synced to other devices.
You can remove this information through your browser’s site-data settings. Clearing site data also removes your saved game and preferences. Private browsing or blocked storage may prevent saving.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
The current game code does not include advertising, analytics trackers, or its own cookies. Fonts and visual assets are served with the website. If advertising or analytics are introduced, this policy will be updated to describe those services and any applicable choices.
Hosting and access
The service that hosts this website may process ordinary connection information, such as IP address, browser details, and requests, to deliver and secure the site. If access to the site requires a hosting-provider sign-in, that sign-in is handled by the provider, separately from the game’s browser storage.
